The pattern comes in three sizes and has a front clear vinyl pocket. It’s perfect for on the go to keep your phone in or I like to use it as a notion pouch for when I go take classes.
I sewed up one of my new Bitty Barn block mini quilts for August.
It is a fun series of four patterns that have three barn blocks in each. One for each month.
I also made an Eleanor Wrislet. A fun bag that goes over your arm that can be used for Knitting on the go, English paper piecing or even embroidery.
Another week of Christmas inspiration to help you get a jump start on your Holiday sewing! We have a great line up of bloggers this week to share with you the projects they have made from my Holiday Wishes book.
But first I want to share a few of my own pictures I took while I was creating the quilts for the book.
The cover quilt is a block of the month called Midnight Clear with 6 different blocks and sashing that I think looks like holly and berries.
There is a table topper called Blizzard that I think is just fun.
Santa's Socks is a lap quilt that reminds me of Argyle socks.
And Comfort and Joy is a sweet little mini wall hanging.
More inspiration coming next week!
Be sure to hop on over to the great bloggers who are joining me and see what they created using the Holiday Wishes book!
The Little Ruby Sew Along hosted by Fat Quarter Shop has been the perfect way for me to get some summer sewing done for myself. I'm excited to share the finished quilt with you today!!
I used Hi De Ho fabric designed by Me & My Sister and I just LOVE how my quilt turned out.
Be sure to stop by the other bloggers and see their finished quilts.
Welcome to another day in the Little Rudy Sew Along hosted by Fat Quarter Shop! I am having alot of fun with this sew along and am very excited to be included in such a great group of bloggers who are also sewing up this beautiful quilt.
This week we are sewing the Jelly Roll strips together, cutting them in triangles that will then be sewing into the star blocks.
Be sure to watch the video to see just how easy this is going to be!
I have wanted a faster machine for awhile and just love it! I do need to name her though...any thoughts on a good name?
I pressed my strips and cut out my triangles~
I plan on using the darker triangles for this quilt. I am saving the light ones for when I go to retreat and finishing the second quilt then....that is on of the great things with this pattern....it's a two for one!
I sewed my dark triangles together and I am ready to assemble my rows. We will be back on June 27th for part 3. See you then!
For their project with a twist, Kimberly and Lori designed this super sweet table runner.
If you would like to sew along with them, you can find the video HERE.
Today is my day share with you the twist I gave to my project and I am so excited about it! With only a week left before Christmas I thought I would do a project that would make a sweet gift for a friend but now that I am done I might have a problem giving it away.
I started out with cutting out the little squares on page 26 of the Great Granny Squared book.
You will need to cut the follow......20 squares of A for the center of the blocks, 80 squares of B for the main fabric of the blocks, 80 squares of D from background fabric and 80 rectangles of E from background fabric.
Now turn to page 17 and assemble your blocks as shown by the diagrams. Then trim your squares to 3 1/2". You will need to make 20 of these little cuties.
Now for the center of the pillow......you will need (16) 3" X 4 1/2" rectangles. Stitch the rectangles together in pairs.
Using a 45 degree ruler, cut the wedge out of the rectangle unit, lining the ruler up on the 5 1/2" and 1" lines.
If your fabric is directional, be sure the wide edge of the wedge is at the top. Yes, my picture looks upside down but that is how it should look so that the wedge will be going the right way when it is cut out. Cut 8 wedges.
With right sides together, fold the wedge in half and stitch across the top. Then trim the excess fabric from the corner.
Fold right side out and press. Make 8 of these wedges.
Stitch all your wedges together to form a lovely Dresden Plate.
Place the Dresden on a 11 1/2" background square and stitch around the edge as you wish. I used a blanket stitch.
Then trace a circle (I used a water cup) onto fusible web. Fuse circle to wrong side of fabric and cut out. Place circle in the center of the Dresden and stitch around it as you wish. I used the blanket stitch again.
Stitch a 1" X 11 1/2" inner border to both sides of the Dresden block. Then stitch a 1" X 12 1/2" inner border to the top and bottom of the block.
Stitch 4 Granny squares together. Make two of these rows and stitch them to the sides of the Dresden block.
Now stitch 6 granny squares together. Make two of these rows and stitch them to the top and bottom of the Dresden block.
I turned my project into a pillow but you could use it as a table topper also....just quilt and bind!
Valentines Day is quickly approaching. Do you decorate for it? I sure love to. It's one of my favorite holiday's and I just have to put up a few decorations around the house to perk it up during our long cold winters.
This year I was ask to join up with a great group of creative ladies and we have come up with a "Be Mine" banner just for you!
I was assigned the "B" and I have to say it was a bit intimidating making something for these ladies because they are all so amazingly creative. We each made our letter without the other knowing what the other's would look like....a fun surprise when the mail comes! We were to use paper, fabric or whatever we wished as long as we used the colors, red, white and pink...adding our own flare to it.
So I whipped up my "B's"~
Popped them in the mail, fingers crossed that the other ladies would like them and waited for the other letters to arrive.
Here is the "B" I designed~
Then I received a super cute "E"~
An "M" with a little friend~ (Did you see the cute bird!)
An "I" with a sweet scallop along the edge's and a great gathered top~
An "N" with a lovely doily~
And another "E" the looks just perky happy!~
Here it is all together~ (I think it looks pretty great hanging along the fire place.)
Would you like to join us and make a banner for yourself? Or you can get 5 other friends together and each make 6 of one letter and swap them like we did. The pattern for my "B" can be Downloaded Here.
Next week we have three more ornaments for you so be sure to come back!

We start out of Blog Hop here with my flaky little friend~
Have you been sewing along with us? I would love to see your progress. We only have a few more weeks left on this Mystery so I am planning the next one. I think we should do a smaller project this time because of the Holiday's...what do you think?
I found this on Pinterest the other day~
It sums up how I feel these days. It seemed like we only had a week or two of fall this year...which I know is not true but I think we were so busy that we didn't get to enjoy much of it. It's a bummer to see it over because fall is my favorite time of year.
This year to enjoy the last bits of summer weather, we went to Excelsior and rented kayaks.
Here we are...my oldest and me trying to get a picture without tipping the boat. Isn't she cute!
Here is my two younger kids trying to paddle together, key word there...trying! I think there was alot more laughing going on then actually getting anywhere.
Of course a day spent on the water really needs to be ended with ice cream so we stopped by The Tonka Trolley for the some of the best ice cream ever.
My favorite is the "Nicollet Ave Pot Hole" ice cream. It's got chocolate ice cream with salted caramel, chocolate chunks and other bits of yummy goodness. I am really going to miss it over the winter months and I am not much of an ice cream eater....so you know this ice cream really is delish!
Don't forget to come back to tomorrow to join me and the other Aurifil designers for our ornament blog hop....it's going to be fun! Please tell your friends to join us too.
