First i must say I am sorry this is a few days late posting. I am on vacation with my hubby and have limited internet so i didnt realize my auto post didn’t work until now. Very sorry for missing that!
On to week three.....grab your pieces for your stars and let’s get sewing!
Starting with your longer star rectangles, stitch background triangles diagonally to both ends. Because these are smaller blocks, I don’t draw a diagonal line for accuracy but I do like to have tape as a guide on my machine or even one of the seam guide templates that you can place right on the bed of your machine to help keep your stitching straight.
Now trim your excess fabric from the outer corners, hold back and press. Repeat this with the smaller background rectangles and your star squares.
Lay out all the pieces for one of your star so that you know how they will get pieced together. I like to leave one laying out the whole time I am stitching so that I always have it as a guide.
Stitch your units together.
Now stitch in your thinner background rectangles to both sides of the star.
Then stitch your wider background rectangles to the top and the bottom of the star.
Now your stars are done and your ready to do some kitty’s next week!
Don’t forget to pop over to Facebook and join my sweet Stitchin group where we are posting each week our progress. I will have prizes each week for a random winner who shared. The link to the group is HERE.
See ya next week!
