Hi to you happy quilters! Are you ready to sew up the last two blocks in our sew along? I have really enjoyed making these block and I hope you have too.
If you are just joining me, you will need a book and you can find it HERE. Grab your favorite holiday fabric and we will get to cutting. If you need the fabric requirements, you can find them HERE.
We also have a wonderful group of bloggers that are joining us and you can find the list of them HERE.
This week we have two new bloggers joining us and first up is Quilt Jane who is sewing the snowflake block with us.
So let's get started.....turn to page 91 and cut out all the needed fabric pieces.
We are starting with the grey pieces so you need to diagonally stitch C to both sides of F. Make 8 of these.
Now we need to make four half square triangle blocks with A and G squares.
Diagonally stitch C to both ends of H. Make four.
Stitch the units together with B, D and E background units. Make four.
Stitch together with H unit. Make four.
Stitch the four units together to form snowflake...and your done!
Last but not least is the gift block. A sweet and simple block that is fun to sew for the holidays but consider sewing up the block in cheerful fabrics to make a birthday quilt for someone special.....just a thought on how to use this happy block.
Our guest blogger that is joining us for the gift block is Hooks, Needles and Brushes. Please stop by there and see their gift block too!
Now for the last block. Turn to page 92 and cut out all the fabric pieces you need.
Diagonally stitch E to both sides of A.
Stitch unit together with two B. Make one.
For the box part of the gift block, stitch together two C, two D and one F.
Stitch the two units together and your done!
That is it for the blocks. Next week we will put it all together. What a great jump on our Holiday sewing! I can't wait to enjoy this quilt on my sofa this winter.
Please use the hashtag #verysherrichristmas when you share your pictures so we can all see your blocks.
