Hello Holiday quilters.....are you ready for two more Winter Wonderland blocks....I know I am!
Today we are going to stitch up blocks nine and ten with the help of some wonderful guest bloggers who are joining us and you can find them all HERE.
If you are just joining us, grab a stack of your favorite Christmas fabric and you can find the book HERE.
The fabric requirements are HERE.
Up first is block nine which is the Ornament. Joining us is Why Not Sew. Please hop on over there and see their wonderful block for more inspiration.
Turn to page 86 and cut out all the needed pieces.
We start out diagonally stitching unit A to both corners of I unit. Make two of these for the ornament top and bottom.
Diagonally stitch K to top left corner of F unit and then diagonally stitch J to bottom right corner of F unit. Make one.
Diagonally stitch J to both ends of E unit. Make one.
Stitch these units together to form ornament center.
Stitch the ornament top and bottom to the center unit. Then stitch D to both sides of ornament.
Stitch B to both sides of H. Make one.
Stitch C to both sides of G. Make 1.
Stitch all the units together to form ornament block....and your done.
Woohoo! Another block finished!
Now let's move on to the house block. I think this is such a sweet block with the scallop roof. Joining us making this block is Freemotion by the River. Don't forget to stop by there and see their house.
Turn to page 88 and cut out all the needed pieces. Check out the T unit, I fussy cut it out so that the wreaths be in the windows....cute huh?
Diagonally stitch A to H. Make one.
Stitch D to top of roof unit. Make one.
Stitch E, R and B together to form chimney, then diagonally stitch I to chimney. Make one.
Stitch units together to form roof top.
For the scallop area of the roof, diagonally stitch F to left side of J and then stitch O to right side of J. Make one. Now do the opposite by diagonally stitch F to right side of J and then stitch O to left side of J. Make one.
Stitch O to both sides of J. Make two of these units.
Stitch all four units together to form roof scallop.
For the house, stitch two P, one T and one S together to form window. Make two.
Diagonally stitch Q to top corners of G for door.
Stitch four N units together with two windows, one door, two K units and one L unit.
Now to finish it up....stitch roof, roof scallop and house together to form block.
We are done for another week. Next week two more blocks and then we put it all together. What a great jump start on our Holiday sewing!
