Are you ready for some more fun? Today we are doing another section of the star points. I am loving how this is turning...how about you?
I made more mini half square triangles like I did last week and yes another fun project will be coming soon that uses them. So let's begin with turning to page 34 in the Winter Wonderland book. We will be using the Fabric G and H units today.
We are doing the same thing we did last week, only with different fabrics. So to make the little extra half square triangles, draw a line 1/4" from the center on the back side of the Fabric G squares.
Stitch on both sides of drawn line.
Cut on drawn line and press.
Repeat with other side of H unit.
Stitch last weeks units together with this weeks unit to make the star points. Press.
Make 4 from each color.
A little tip...when I press the center seams, I like to use The Strip Stick. It is a little strip that is curved and you place the seam on it and press. It helps open the seam so it's easier to press.
I like to turn the block over and press flat. It works great and come in different sizes. The mini and 18" sticks are my favorite.
Next up is sewing the block units together...I can't wait!!
That's a cool tool! Love your ironing board cover too.
