I love my crock pot! I love dumping a bunch of food in the ol' crock pot in the morning and not having to think about dinner all day. Of course one of the best things is that is makes the house smell so good.
A new crock pot favorite at our house is........
~French Onion Soup~
What you need~
1 large sweet onion, thinly sliced (about 4 cups).
1/4 cup butter, cubed.
(2) 14 1/2 oz cans of beef broth.
2 tbsp of sherry.
1/2 teaspoon fresh ground pepper.
4 thick slices of french bread, toasted.
4 slices provolone cheese.
What you do~
Spray slow cooker with cooking spray.
Place onion and butter in cooker and cook on low for 6 hours.
Stir broth, sherry and pepper together with the onions and butter.
Cover and cook 2-3 hours longer.
Ladle soup into ovenproof bowls.
Top each bowl with toast and cheese.
Broil 4 to 6 inches from heat for 2 to 3 minutes or until cheese is hot, bubbly and starting to turn brown.
Enjoy!
Wow Sherri, this sounds so good. And easy too!! Thanks for sharing.
