I already confessed to you that I LOVE bags. (And there seems to be a lot of you just like me out there!) The other thing I love but don't have much time for at this stage in my life is flowers. I just love everything about them. I love the way they smell, the way they look growing in my yard (the ones in the flower box not the dandelion's) and how they look when I pick them for my table. I grew up with a grandpa who had MANY roses bushes....a whole garden full with a little stone walkway winding through it. He always gave me roses to take home every time I visited him. I was spoiled...I know it...I grew up having fresh roses in my room all summer long. The good kind of roses that smell wonderful. Someday I will have a garden like that when I have the time to commit to. Right now I have about 15 bushes that grow strong and smell fabulous but I miss the garden path and the look of that cute English garden he grew....it's just not the same with a row of bushes that grow next to the house. (My husband likes he green yarn and won't let me dig up much of it....yet!)
So to fill my days with flowers I have a new book called "Fresh Cut Flowers"
It's a cute little book with 6 embroidery projects all about flowers. Just what we need right now since winter doesn't want to go away yet.
There is a pincushion~
A treat bag so you can share home made goodies with your friends~
A towel to brighten up the kitchen~
A trimming for a pillow case....see the roses? Love them!
And since I already confessed my bag obsession....I have to show you my new bag book.
There is a tote with a large front pocket that uses a pretty stripe for the center of the pocket~
A tote that uses charm squares for the bottom edge~
A small wristlet for on the go~
And a tote that is perfect for the weekend with a zipper top~ (It uses the cute new fabric candy squares from Moda fabrics.)
So you can see that I love flowers and bags...I don't think you can ever have enough of either one. How about you? What are your favorite things?
Because these are my newest books, I would like to give some away. So if you leave me a comment here on the blog between now and next Tuesday (February 26th) I will draw three names and those luck people will receive a copy of each book.
Have a great day!

Love that wristlet! And the embroidery is all too cute!
We used to have roses when I was growing up. It was so nice to sleep with the windows open and smell them when I woke up in the morning. Hope you get your rose garden soon!

Do simple things with great love is one of my favorite quotes! Between that and my love of Noteworthy, these projects are just calling out to me. I never really thought of myself as being into embroidery, but I did a bit before Christmas and just loved it, so I am really intrigued by these projects...

You are so talented. And I enjoy reading your stories about your family. My mother grew roses. And I've decided I have this "thing" for bags. Kind of like fabric. Can't have too much, or too many.

Your new embroidery book is a MUST HAVE! I have a perfect person to gift each item to that you showed-Christmas can be taken care of with your new book. And who ever has enough tote bags? Two more great books to add to my collection of your patterns.

I love both of the books. I am finding my way back to embroidery these days so your book would be great. I too love bags and especially the large one with the center panel. Great stitching or knitting bag on the go. Thanks for the great give-away.

I share your love of Roses. I have only been able to get 3 bushes to grow in 12 years. (I live north and by the sea.) So it would be great to be able to stitch one instea then I could "grow" roses all winter long.
