It's such a great feeling to finish quilting a large quilt and see it on the bed...sure wish it was mine!

I have a good friend that does embroidery stitching for me and I quilt for her. It's a great exchange for both of us. She pieced this beautiful queen size quilt at our retreat and it is to go in her guest room.
I just love the colors in this quilt and took the pictures on my own bed because we had just painted the room last weekend. It is now a "cornmeal" yellow after having it a tan color for years. I love how sunny and happy the room looks now. Too bad the quilt isn't mine because it fits the room perfectly. I think I am going to have to start collecting fabrics for a new quilt.
I should have taking pictures that are close up of the quilting but I was so enjoying how it looked on my bed that I didn't even think about it...next time I will.
For her birthday I made her some pillow cases using the same fabric line as the quilt.
Can I confess that I am obsessed with making pillow cases with a crocheted edge?

I have this one I need to do for my daughter....
I found the tutorial on the You Go Girl blog. She gives great instruction on how to do it.
Don't forget to come back on Monday for our first clue in the new mystery.

That is a beautiful quilt and it would look good in that room! And those loves crochet edge pillow cases are a lovely complement.

Such sweet colors in that pretty quilt. Makes me want to make one in that combination too - it does look lovely with your walls! Thank you for the link to the crochet tutorial. That's on my list of things to learn. Adds such a lovely touch to the pillowcases!

This quilt is just gorgeous! I love yellow also! I have a question...You mentioned in your post about starting to collect materials for your next quilt...I have been wanting to start building a stash but I am curious is there a standard "safe" amount you but if you see a material that you just love? I don't want to buy something and find that there isn't enough to do anything with! Thank you for any feed back for this new to quilting!
